Rad bike accessories canada11/27/2023 *On a stock RadMission, the wire from the controller goes into the frame and reaches the battery tray/mount. Replacing the Rad battery with a non-Rad battery requires replacing the battery tray/mount (easy to sell the Rad tray/mount with or without the Rad battery) and adding an adapter between the new battery and the controller*. I also regret that I didn’t sell the RadMission battery (that came with the bike) and replace it with a much larger capacity battery from a non-Rad vendor (3rd party). I regret buying any extra RadMission batteries. Re-reading my response I see the problem. Maybe in the future I'll add a rearview mirror. There are two things that I generally don't have, but could come in handy, or I'll take when we're really remote: airpump + spare tube + tire levers, portable tool (screwdriver, allen keys). That finds us well enough to go get to-go containers, grocery shopping, just biking around, having lunch at the beach, etc. My old mountain biking gloves (roads are a bit rough around here). Neckstrap/badge strap for the keys (lock, bike, alarm remote) Ziploc bag for the phone when if it rains A handtowel to keep things covered, or wipe down, etc. A bit of extra cushion with a strap on gel pad: Motorcycle Bungie to keep things contained in the racks: FoldyLock Classic lock (we keep our bikes garaged, but these are nice enough for "having lunch" for a bit"). One bike has the front rack that gets used occasionally. Rear rack (added a $6 Target Y-Weave plastic basket that fits a paper grocery bag). For both, since we live in the Pacific Northwest: I put together two RadMissions for my wife and myself. I’m aware that referring to myself in the third person is stupid. I got the Rad Mission mostly because of price and weight but partly because I read the single gear requires less maintenance.Īny tips, tricks or recommendations for your boy would be greatly appreciated. If you own a Rad Mission, what would you have done differently? Are there any tips on better performing or less expensive aftermarket accessories? I’m also considering the tire armor since it would be nice to not have to worry about flats but I haven’t really ridden bikes since my childhood so all this stuff is new to me. I’m considering a rear rack and possibly a platform or basket so I can take it grocery shopping but it’s a lot of extra money for a little grocery space. I’m new to ebikes and an impulse purchase of a Jetson Bolt Pro at Costco led to me then purchasing a Jupiter Discovery X5 and now a Rad Mission that I’m waiting to be delivered. I also ordered a Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit lock on eBay for $70 (heads up a few sellers are letting go of new ones fairly cheap). I took advantage of the $899 price, used my friend’s referral code to bring it down to $849 and added the kickstand and fenders.
